Miami-Dade County – SiBike

Miami-Dade County is testing SiBike - a new smartphone-based bike detection system and the cycling community is invited to participate. As a cyclist, you have an opportunity to help decide if SiBike detection technology is implemented in Miami-Dade County. The first location equipped with SiBike connectivity has been installed at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and 11 Street in Miami Beach. This location is being used as a test site for this new technology.

The Challenge

Miami Dade county wanted to make the community around Euclid Avenue and 11 Street in Miami Beach aware of the new SiBike technology that was being deployed at that intersection.

Our Solution

Our community outreach specialists worked together with Miami-Dade County staff to schedule community involvement events at the SiBike connectivity site. Flyers and yard signs were designed and distributed around the intersection. A landing page was also developed to encourage app downloads and survey submissions. Our team also produced an informational video explaining the project and its benefits.

The Results

Through our experienced, dynamic, people-centered approach to outreach and involvement, we helped Miami Dade County build community involvement and spread the word about the Sibike initiative. Miami-Dade County has been able to collect usage data and survey results more effectively. The information collected will help determine if this new bike detection technology is implemented at additional locations in the County.
